Inspired by Light, Shapes of Nature and Spiritual Symbols

10 June 2023 @ 2.00pm - 3.30pm

Cyanotype-printing otherwise known as Sun-printing or blueprinting is a photographic technique pioneered by the famous botanist and photographer Anna Atkins 1799-1871.

In this guided workshop we will explore this technique as we coat paper with cyanotype, and gather our own interesting natural shapes such as feathers, grasses, and flowers, which will gather from the wonderful grounds of St Enda’s.

We will then lay the shapes over the prepared paper, and develop using the power of the suns UV light. The result, beautiful silhouettes and photographic prints surrounded in a rich blue hue. Fun for all ages, but remember children must be accompanied with a parent or guardian, gloves and all materials will be provided.

Come join us on the Saturday 10th of June at 14:00pm in the Nature Study Room at St Enda’s park.
